Almaas Bannister
Mental Health Therapist
Almaas received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Florida and completed her Master of Social Work from Ohio State University where she specialized in Substance Use Disorders and Clinical Mental Health.
She moved to the DC area in 2023 to work as a school-based mental health therapist for One Common Unity.
Prior to One Common Unity, Almaas provided services to a nonprofit organization in North Florida and played an integral role in implementing their social work policies and guidelines. Additionally, she has experience working in the private sector providing clinical services to clients via telehealth. Her passion for her work stems from her desire to serve her community and help people grow into their best versions.
In her free time, Almaas enjoys trying the new foods and experiences that DC offers, thrift shopping, utilizing the fiber arts to craft clothes and apparel, spending time with her friends and family, and caring for her feline companion, Apophis.
