Oshun Baronville
OST Program Facilitator
Oshun Baronville (they/she), is an interdisciplinary artist, oral historian, wellness facilitator, cultural worker, and curator based in Washington D.C. Often drawing creative inspiration from their Haitian heritage, they honor the island’s indigenous roots by defining themselves foremost as a “person of the mountains.”
Oshun utilizes their background in cultural anthropology to investigate diasporic cultures of belonging, the politics of memory, and our spiritual ties to the land. They credit their studies at Princeton University in the African-American Studies, Urban Studies, and Theater departments for their love of radical research traditions and drive to find creative ways to disseminate transformative knowledge. They are excited to apply their background as a teaching artist and wellness facilitator to activate emergent and communally-sourced pedagogy. Oshun hopes to give students the tools they deserve in the lifelong work of self-actualization and expression. In their free time, you can find them cooking for friends, dancing in Dupont Circle, or enjoying a sunny day at the park.
